He studied Arabic language and literature, Qurʾan exegesis, arithmetic, geometry and other disciplines of the time. He was known as an ascetic (zāhid), and was a famous Sufi, being known as Shaykh al-ṣūfiyya.<br /> <br /> Ibn Barrajān is known for five books.
